The Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC) is a platform, which organises events where business-minded entrepreneurs, scientist, academia and students can interact with industry professionals and early-stage investment communities.

With over 4000 members, CUTEC consists of PhDs and MBA students, postdoctoral researchers and professionals from which approximately 30 active participants are distinguished in the About us section. The Club is regarded as a leading society amongst Cambridge University, voted as the 3rd best university start-up community (YouNoodle’s survey, 2008). 

Since its inception in 2003, CUTEC has grown considerably into a company-like organisation with an Executive Committee overseeing 5 teams: Marketing, Business Operations, Content, External relations and Sponsorship all managed by their respective Vice Presidents.

Throughout the year to establish its global influence, CUTEC organises a series of events such as regular workshops and surgeries as well as open innovation events developed under the umbrella of ideas@CUTEC.  These events are held for both CUTEC members as well as the wider University community and can be either run independently or in collaboration with local or global networks.

This is finally leading up towards CUTEC’s annual flagship event in June: the Technology Ventures Conference (TVC) – one of the world’s largest student-run entrepreneurial events. Annually, the TVC attracts worldwide high profile venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and angel investors providing unmatched access to this community for student attendees. Over the past two years high profile keynote speakers such as Marissa Mayer (VP, Google), George Whitesides (CEO, Virgin Galactic) and Rory Cellan-Jones (BBC Technology Correspondent) have honoured the Club’s efforts with their presence meanwhile the audience gathered over 350 multinational delegates, representing Universities and businesses from the US, Asia and Europe.
