Liz Williams, PresidentLiz is in the final year of her organic chemistry PhD, working on the total synthesis of novel natural product analogues as anticancer agents. Liz was the Technology Showcase Lead for TVC 2011, and a member of the Sponsorship team in 2010/11. Her appetite for business was fueled by her participation in the 'Emerging Ventures Technology' course, looking at the market potential of novel applications of Plastic Electronics for healthcare. Liz is passionate about the application of organic chemistry to solve global issues, such as renewable sources for fuels, batteries and sustainable plastics. Liz is keen to focus her career on uniting chemistry and business to provide much-needed solutions to today's growing population requirements. |

Claire Thiveyrat, Director of OperationsClaire is a professional from the tourism industry in which she obtained a diploma in Catering & Hotel Trade management in 2004,Tourism School Paul Augier, Nice (France). After 3 years of diverse professional experiences along the French Riviera, she took the challenge of pursuing her career in the UK. Over the past 4 years abroad, she enhanced herself gaining a First class degree in International Business Strategy at the Cambridge Ashcroft Business School, meanwhile growing within an internet based company, Booking.com. Her main areas of interest are centred around environmental strategy and sustainable marketing in which broaden her expertise via an internship at the UNEP-WCMC. She is now an Account manager at Booking.com, however her strong aspirations are to emphasis her work on sustainable corporate strategies and sharpen her entrepreneurial skills via an MBA course for the forthcoming year. |

Neil Rzechorzek, Director of DevelopmentNeil is a Post-Doctoral research scientist in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, and is performing structural and biochemical studies on several DNA repair proteins. He obtained his PhD in structural biology, biochemistry and biophysics at the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London. Prior to this, Neil received a Masters degree in Biomolecular Science from the University of York and a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath. One of his key interests is the commercialisation of academic ideas and discoveries for the greater benefit of UK plc. In this regard, and alongside his present research duties, Neil is also a London Technology Network (LTN) Business Fellow for the University of Cambridge. This role involves improving collaboration between the School of Biology and SMEs in an effort to foster new working relationships that will benefit both the University and UK industry. |

Alexey Bannykh, Director of InnovationAlexey Bannykh joined CUTEC as a member of the External Relations Team in March 2011 and was later elected as a Director of Innovation. Alexey is a third year PhD student at Materials Science and Metallurgy Department of the University of Cambridge. He is doing research on superconducting quantum electronics at Device Materials Group. He obtained his Masters degree from the Lomonosov Moscow State University and made the Diploma research project at Research Centre Juelich, Germany. He is very much interested in economics of innovation and entrepreneurship. Alexey was a president of Cambridge University Russian Society in 2009-2010 and an International officer at Darwin College Student Association in 2010. He is very passionate about Scuba-diving and sailing and an active member of the University’s Underwater Exploration Group and Yacht Club. |

Andriy Gordiychuk, Chief Information OfficerAndriy is a fourth year Engineering Student from King's College. During his time in Cambridge, in addition to rowing for his college, he was on the committees of both Ukrainian and Russian Societies. He has recently founded the Cambridge University Eurasia Society in an attempt to create a solid platform for representing the business and politics sector of the Eastern Block countries. In his spare time Andriy is working on a few applications for the iPhone (to be completed soon). He believes that his technical skills acquired during his work on several online projects will allow him to successfully accomplish the role of the Chief Information Officer. |

Vivian Chan, ChairmanVivian is a Cambridge Commonwealth scholar pursuing her PhD in Biochemistry, focusing on the structural and biochemical studies of RNase E using X-ray crystallography. Prior to her postgraduate studies, she worked as an Investment Process Manager at a venture fund in Brisbane, Australia. She has vast interests in entrepreneurship and commercialisation of science, and was selected to represent Australia in the Novartis BioCamp, held as a platform for exploring the innovative and entrepreneurial aspects of biotechnology. Vivian joined the CUTEC content team in 2009, was the President for 2010-2011 and is currently the Chairman. |
